
Insulation Compliance Inspections & Advice
New Zealand has strict Healthy Homes Standards that all rental properties must comply with. If you’re unsure whether your property meets these standards, we provide insulation inspections, certificates/statements of compliance, and advice to get your home up to spec.
All new or renewed tenancy agreements must include specific information about the rental property’s current level of compliance with the Healthy Homes standards. An element of this includes the requirement by law for all landlords to provide a signed insulation statement issued by certified installers.
These Healthy Homes standards took effect on 1 July 2021, with all rental properties to comply by 1 July 2025. As a part of these Healthy Homes standards, the minimum requirements for insulation have been raised. This means that though some houses did not require new insulation under the Residential Tenancy Act (RTA) from 2016, the new standards may require a ceiling insulation upgrade or new underfloor insulation for those homes.
